I like that Alice thinks that winning a fight and being in a fight are different things. It’s pretty audacious. Meanwhile, her dad is just shocked that she’s capable of such violence. I suppose it’s not every day that Alice had such a bad day. Brett didn’t deserve to be the target of violence, no matter how big a jerk he is. Alice hasn’t figured stuff like this out; she doesn’t have a proper outlet for her anger.

Alice is trying to turn her dad’s overbearing standards around on him here. She doesn’t often defy him, and when she does, it’s still in his framework of morals.
