Alice has ended up here out of a mix of failure and stubbornness. She’s not thrilled about her lot in life right now, but she’s also pretty complacent. This is a pretty nice gas station, at least – it’s like, half a step below a 7-11.

Art wise this is my favourite of the early pages, things are starting to come together. My favourite bit is the magazines in the corner – you got food magazine, butts magazine, V, Sports Illustrated, and a couple of tabloids. Alice still needs a consistent scale, though – I was torn in the early pages whether should be tall (for a woman) or just straight up tall.
